  GreenHouse Culture pdf
  To grow tomato seeds in heated greenhouses sow January onwards, in a temperature of 16-18°C (60-65°F).
  Transplant into small pots. Plant out in large pots, growing bags, or into a soil border at 45cm (18") spacing.

Pinch out side shoots regularly and when in flower tap or shake plants daily to aid setting
For growing in unheated greenhouses, sow in warmth, from March onwards. Plant late April-early May. Harvest mid August-mid October.

Description/Specification
 
Determinate, good strain with profused bearing. Fruit size 90-100 gms, near round in shape, at ripening uniform red colour, bearing in bunches of 6-8 fruits per bunch, size uniform. Fruits firm skinned, thus suitable for long distance transportation. Resistant to Verticilium wilt, Fusarium wilt, root knot nematodes. Yield 30-40 tonnes per acre.
 

Environmental factors affecting the length of the style.

Professor Messiaen, in his excellent work “Le Potager Tropical” makes the observation that tomatoes grown in the tropics have the tendency to have a longer style. It would seem in fact that the elongation of the style is caused by solar intensity, the length of the days and the ratio of carbon to nitrogen.
In areas that are not susceptible to cross pollination, that is to say the major part of the temperate zone, one can expect between 2 and 5% natural hybridisation.
